Laureate Members attend IPCC Second Lead Author Meeting in Kenya

ARC Laureate Fellow Distinguished Professor Xuemei Bai and Laureate Postdoctoral Researcher Dr. Thi Minh Phuong Nguyen attended the second Lead Author Meeting (LAM) in Mombasa Kenya for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report.

Preceding the main meeting, an initial workshop in Nairobi was held featuring a small group of IPCC Special Report CLAs and partners from UN Habitat. The workshop aim was to discuss the content of the various chapters with a focus on solutions and future dissemination of the report to practitioners upon release. Professor Bai attended in her capacity as one of the CLAs of Chapter 4, along with co-CLA José Antonio Puppim de Oliveira.

The LAM-proper was held in Mombasa between July 21st to 25th. Dr. Nguyen also attended in her capacity as Chapter Scientist. The meeting was fruitful as the contributors to Chapter 4 met for the second time this year to discuss how to move forward the chapter over the next coming months.
